Stopover in Lisbon: what to do and when to leave
Lisbon airport is close to the city, but one exit adds immigration, Metro, unevenness and a conservative return to the terminal. Baixa and Alfama form a compact exit; Avoid chaining viewpoints with a fair scale.
With less than 7 hours, stay in LIS. From 8–10 hours Baixa can fit if you can enter Portugal, the luggage continues to the destination and you reserve three hours to return. Complete Alfama is better with 11 hours or more.
