Taoyuan Airport has two passenger terminals linked to Taipei by the Airport MRT. The rail connection makes a compact city visit realistic on a long layover, but immigration, the ride from Taipei Main Station and the return to the correct terminal must all stay protected.
With less than 10 hours, stay at TPE. From 10–12 hours, Ximending can fit if you can enter Taiwan, your baggage is checked through and you reserve at least three hours for the return, security and the gate.
