Stopover in Seoul: what to do and when to leave
Incheon is a large hub with very good airside services, but it is far from central Seoul. Hongdae is the most realistic urban exit by AREX; For palaces or historic neighborhoods you need a very large stopover and a determined railway route before leaving.
With less than 8 hours, stay at ICN. From 9–11 hours Hongdae can fit if you can enter Korea, the baggage is checked through to the final destination and you reserve three hours to return. The historic center requires 12 hours or more.
