Stopover in Tokyo: what to do and when to leave

Haneda is much closer to Tokyo than Narita, but leaving the international terminal still involves immigration, train, checks and a conservative return. Asakusa is the most compact getaway; If the margin is narrow, T3 offers sufficient rest and services without leaving the airport.

Calculate my layover

With less than 7 hours, it is better to stay in Haneda. From 8–10 hours Asakusa can fit if you can enter Japan, your baggage is checked through to the final destination and you have a protected return to T3.
